At a press conference in the building of the government of Israel, on 02 December 2014, welcoming the highest delegation of the Serbian government, the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in English:
”THE FRIENDSHIP OF THE JEWISH AND SERBIAN PEOPLE HAS LASTED FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS, EVER SINCE THE TIMES OF THE ROMAN REPUBLIC. (...)”
It is a carefully measured, written and read statement of the first man of an extremely serious state, a man who is backed by some of the oldest archives and probably the best intelligence service in the modern world. We have seen the official video footage of this statement many times. We have excluded a mistake, clumsy translation, spinning. The high official knew very well what he was saying.
It is an extremely credible statement that breaks to pieces the established scientific construct about the Serbs appearing in the 7th century ”from somewhere behind the Carpathians”, in the ”great migration of people” (and as they came, so they can leave). The highest official of the ”Biblical People” actually invites Serbs, RIGHT NOW, to wake up and get serious. To deal with holes in their history and self-knowledge, their ”fate behind the curtain”. To be careful when listening to magical monologues about internal dialogue.
In three and a half years, this statement was analyzed by only two tabloids and a few weak portals in Serbia. Have scientists reacted? The Academy of Arts and Scientists? The church? University? Has the national TV requested an interview with Netanyahu and asked him to explain his shocking statement? Has anyone come out at least to deny the Jewish prime minister? To tell him that he is talking nonsense, that he is burdened with a ”mythical approach”, succumbed to the pro-Serbian megalomania, crazy?
Nothing. Silence. And how would the public respond in those countries if the Israeli Prime Minister welcomed the prime minister of Croatia, Albania or Bulgaria?
We are at the last turn before the disaster. In the fall, we will argue about whether we are related to the retrograde prince Lazar or Vlah-Hamza, a famous modernist and realist. It is not too late to get interested in our case.
